Audi S6 2013

An all-new 2013 Audi S6 sedan goes on sale next summer, part of a revised lineup of Audi's high-performance S cars that debuted earlier this year at the Frankfurt auto show. The upcoming S6 was first shown in the U.S. at the LA Auto Show in November 2011. The 2013 S6 uses a new twin-turbocharged, direct-injection 4.0-liter V8 engine called TFSI that makes 420 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. That's a slight power drop from the 435 hp on the previous powerplant, a 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10, but an increase in torque over the previous 398 lb-ft. Paired with a 7-speed, dual-clutch transmission, Audi says the S6 will beat the outgoing model in the 0-62 mph run at 4.8 seconds, compared with 5.1 seconds on the previous generation. The top speed on the 2013 Audi S6 will be electronically limited at 155 mph.
While performance numbers are respectable (albeit not mind-numbing), the S6's real achievement is efficiency. In addition to the revised powertrain, the S6 uses a start-stop feature and cylinder-on-demand technology, which allows the car to operate on four cylinders during highway driving to save fuel. (Hand-in-hand with the cylinder deactivation function is an Active Noise Cancellation system, which sends an anti-phase sound into the cabin to cancel any engine noise when the engine is operating on half of its cylinders.)
The new S6 is lighter than before, thanks to a proliferation of aluminum that comprises 20 percent of the car.
The result of all this, according to Audi's estimations, is improved gas mileage of up to 25 percent. And while official numbers aren't out, Audi says they expect the S6 to achieve an EPA rating of 24 mpg Combined, compared with 16 mpg Combined on the old model.
The S6 comes with Audi's Quattro all-wheel drive system, as well as a sport-tuned adaptive air suspension. Standard features include 19-inch aluminum wheels, steel vented disc brakes, xenon headlights, sport seats, a head-up display, park assist with 360-degree camera, Audi's MMI interface, Bluetooth connectivity and the usual S aero and trim enhancements. Options include 20-inch wheels, carbon ceramic disc brakes (which shave 11 pounds off the 4,178-pound curb weight), speed adjustable steering and Audi's sport differential, which actively distributes power between the rear wheels. The MMI Navigation Plus package gets you an eight-inch LCD display, hard-drive based entertainment system, WLAN capability and a 15-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system. Buyers can also choose from two different seat options.
Key rivals to the 2013 Audi S6 include the redesigned BMW M5, with a twin-turbo V8 that packs more horses and torque, as well as a faster 0-60 mph time, and the Mercedes Benz E63 AMG, which serves up more power but isn't quite as quick.
The 2013 Audi S6 is scheduled to go on sale in late spring/early summer of 2012, shortly after the European launch. Pricing has not been announced. We're guessing the new S6 will be priced similarly to its predecessor, possibly around $76,000.

Audi R8 GT Spyder 2012

With the 2012 Audi R8 GT Spyder debuting at this year's LA Auto Show, one might say the Audi R8 supercar lineup is now complete. This latest addition, the drop-top version of the uber-performance GT, means the venerated Audi R8 now has topless siblings for all of its variants. The Audi R8 GT Spyder gets the same powerplant that propels the hardtop: a mid-mounted, direct-injection 5.2-liter V10 that makes 560 horsepower and 398 pound-feet of torque.
Sportscar purists might bemoan that the only transmission choice is the R-Tronic, Audi's 6-speed single clutch automated manual. Still, the 2012 Audi R8 GT Spyder is no slouch. Add the standard rear-biased four-wheel-drive plus launch control, and you get a manufacturer-estimated 0-62 mph time of 3.8 seconds (or 0-60 in about 3.6 seconds) and a top speed of 197 miles per hour.
Like its hardtop sibling, the GT Spyder sports carbon-fiber panels and trim, including a front splitter, rear spoiler and rear bumper with integrated diffuser. Combined with a lighter transmission, wheels and brakes, examples of the R8 GT Spyder bound for the U.S. each lose 107 pounds over non-GT Spyders. European spec models will get special fiberglass bucket seats that will shave off even more weight, but whether they'll end up here in the States is TBD. In addition to the fancy aero and lighter components, the 2012 Audi R8 GT Spyder, like the coupe, also gets 19-inch wheels and a 0.4-inch lower suspension. A GT Spyder for the North American market should weigh in at a more svelte but still substantial 3,800 pounds.
Options on the 2012 Audi R8 GT Sypder will most likely be the same or similar as on the coupe, which includes an enhance leather package, Audi's MMI infotainment system, a Bang & Olufson sound system and various wheel and brake choices. The Spyder also features a microphone built into the driver’s seatbelt to allow for clearer handsfree calling with the top down.
The most obvious competitor to the 2012 Audi R8 GT Spyder might very well be the newly unveiled Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster. Its 563 hp and 479 pound-feet of torque top the specs on the Audi, and will only set you back $183,000, compared to the $200,000-plus price tag we're expecting for the R8 GT Spyder. Other worthy competitors include the Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG, Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet, and Ferrari 458 Spider.
Like the GT Coupe, only 333 Audi R8 GT Spyders will be produced, and only about 90 of them are slated for American soil. As for pricing, though figures haven't been announced, the current hardtop GT starts at $196,800, and the 5.2 Audi R8 has about a 10-percent price premium over the hardtop with the same engine. That makes our guess for the 2012 Audi R8 GT Spyder around $215,000, give or take, with availability expected in early 2012.

Audi Q5 2012 Reviews

Audi Q5 introduced in 2009, competing in the luxury crossover segment, Audi Q5 SUV is one of the most attractive in the market. But performance does not come at the expense of fuel economy, because the four-cylinder turbocharged engine returns an EPA-estimated 22 mpg in combined driving, while the V6 delivers up to 20 mpg is still commendable. Given a four-cylinder engine is only as fast as the V6; we see little need to pay extra money for extra cylinders, though.

2012, Audi has not changed many aspects of the Q5. One of the most important changes is the optional S Line Plus Premium Plus Package in the six-cylinder engine and cut the Prestige, The 2012 Audi Q5 is a compact luxury crossover is available in four trim levels: 2.0T Premium, 2.0T Premium Plus, 3.2 Premium and 3.2 Prestige a plus. A number that refers to the shift of the machine.

In 2012 the proportion of the Audi Q5 also provide broader decent amount of comfort and utility. Along with many places to accommodate passengers and cargo, this compact crossover to develop family-friendly appeal. Above all, the Q5 comes with one of the best interiors in its class, with all the luxury segment are distinctive features

2012 Audi Q5 also provides great convenience and a decent amount of utility, the Audi Q5 can be guaranteed that it will bring the family in style, but may wonder whether the Q5 can be both stylish and utilitarian. According to the automotive media, Audi Q5 should do the job properly. The rear seats fit three good kids, but three teenagers or students may be squished.

Premium standard features on the 2.0T include 18-inch wheels, automatic headlights, automatic wipers, roof rails, eight-way power seat forward (with four-way lumbar adjustment), steering wheel tilt-and-telescoping, leather upholstery, tri Self-temperature zone, 40/20/40 sliding seat and lay back, dash-mounted multi-media interface (MMI) and 10sistem speaker sound with CD/MP3 player, the addition of an audio jack and satellite radio. An option on Premium includes a beautiful sunroof, heated front seats, Bluetooth and iPod interface. This item is available at 2.0T Premium Plus, which also gets xenon lights, LED running lights, power tailgate, auto-dimming and power-folding exterior mirrors and auto-dimming interior mirror. Nineteen-inch wheels are optional.

Audi Q5 provides a range of active safety features, the most prominent Braking Guard. It uses a radar adaptive cruise control are available to monitor the space in front. If it closes in on another car or object, he warns the driver with sound and light warning first, and then squeezes the brake for a moment.

Among the competition, the Volvo XC60 provides a roomier interior and features a bit more family friendly. If the performance is high on your wish list, top Q5 BMW X3 uses 300-horsepower engine is available. Would you prefer the X3 or Q5 is an optional, so the test drives both? Two is the most obvious difference is price and engine size. X3 starts at around $ 37,000, but unlike the Q5, the machine comes with a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine. However, some commentators still luxurious Audi Q5, although the ability of four-cylinder engine and less basic. Both models come standard with all-wheel.

Audi A4 2012 Reviews

Audi A4 with a few changes for 2012. Among beginners luxury sedan, 2012 Audi A4 is one of the cars. Comes with a surprisingly small change in the exterior design of the car body, a slightly revamped for the launch of a great year.

2012 Audi A4 comes with a choice of engines: 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder. This may seem like an odd choice given every other competitor models which have six cylinders, but the fact that the benefits of further lowering A4 with this option.

Audi A4 can be set either front or all-wheel drive. Reviewers love Audi's quattro all-wheel drive system, said to improve grip on winding roads A4.

Although the check quickly noted that the A4 2.0-liter turbocharged car names do not correspond to a stronger top of the middle class, in 2012 Audi A4 has a lot going for it. Fuel savings of fixed stars and with the exception of hybrids like the Chevrolet Volt and the Lincoln MKZ Hybrid, the 2012 Audi A4 is one of the most efficient vehicle fuels in the classroom.

The real strength is its high-quality 2012 Audi A4 cabin. Audi makes the best use of classroom materials and aesthetic design of a resist to create a modern interior luxury. Certainly has a lot of standard or upscale options, including navigation, premium sound system and Audi's MMI Electronics Interface (MMI although without the navigation can be unintuitive to use). Cargo space on average for this segment, but for those who need more utility, there is an A4 Avant wagon handsome.

Changing every 2012 Audi A4 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that produces 211 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque is enough. Premium and Premium Plus class cut level sedan comes standard as Front-rank 2.0T Multitronic, showed he had a front-wheel drive and a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). Everything can have 2.0T Quattro trims, which signifies all-wheel drive and either a standard six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission option. Avant Quattro is available only to use and automated.

If you are interested in a combination of the 2012 Audi A4 all-wheel-drive and luxury goods, there are some noteworthy competitors, 2012 A4 to become the top choice among entry-level luxury sedan. But it has some strong competition to overcome - each with its own set of advantages. BMW 3 Series is more or less defining this segment as well as offering a high level of driver involvement. Mercedes-Benz C-Class emphasis on luxury and good build quality -- Infiniti G sedan offers more power for less money. But if you're looking for all the arts combined in the Audi A4 -- recommend giving some serious consideration.
2012 A4 has an option for the sports package, which includes an 18-inch tires, special interior trim and adjustable sport suspension. The design is in accordance with a quota of country-style cottage with the highest quality ingredients possible.

Among entry-level luxury sedan, Audi A4 cabin 2012 is considered one of the best in its class. Interior design of the hardware that lends seriousness adult atmosphere, while the top-notch material sophisticated refinement to send a message. The use of genuine leather as standard equipment also provides superior than its competitors from BMW Audi and Mercedes, wearing imitation leather vinyl.

Most of the MMI infotainment functions are conveniently located around the shift lever on models equipped with navigation systems, but have cars without MMI navigation on the dashboard, which is much more practical and user friendly. Navigation equipped vehicles also get a new version, improved from the MMI. Other controls are generally intuitive and Audi A4 have been well laid out, although access to certain features can be a frustrating exercise. Set up simple things like fan speed, for example, is a two step process.

2012 Audi A4 comes either as a sedan or Avant wagon, the latter is separate. Both of these models consider the 2012 essentially unchanged.
High-performance variant of the A4, Audi S4, ranging from $ 47,300 and a separate final.

Audi R8 2011 Review

The 2011 Audi R8 is Audi's halo car, a low-slung, two-seat supercar derived in part from the Lamborghini Gallardo. Keeping the Audi R8 fresh, Audi added a V-10 engine in the car's second model year and in this, its third model year, adds a new convertible model. The convertible Spyder will initially be offered only with the V-10 engine and borrows most of the V-10 coupe's unique styling cues.

Also, the navigation system is awkward to use and the optional R tronic automated manual transmission shifts clumsily at low speed.

The "2011 Audi R8 "is a two-seat exotic supercar available in 4.2 Coupe, 5.2 Coupe and 5.2 Spyder trim levels. Standard equipment on the 4.2 Coupe includes 19-inch wheels, adaptive suspension dampers, cruise control, automatic xenon headlights, LED running lights, automatic climate control, heated eight-way power seats (with four-way power-adjustable lumbar), leather and faux suede upholstery, auto-dimming rearview mirror, Bluetooth and a seven-speaker sound system with six-CD changer, auxiliary audio jack and satellite radio. Differences include a revised suspension, aerodynamic enhancements, carbon-fiber body panels, reduced acoustic insulation, thinner window glass and a GT-specific steering wheel.

The 2011 Audi R8 4.2 is powered by a 4.2-liter V8 mounted behind the passenger compartment that sends 430 hp and 317 pound-feet of torque through an all-wheel-drive system. A six-speed manual transmission with a gated metal shifter is standard, while a six-speed single-clutch automated manual known as R tronic is optional. The Audi R8 5.2 gets a 5.2-liter V10 that produces 525 hp and 391 lb-ft of torque. In Edmunds performance testing, the 5.2 Coupe with the manual went from zero to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds, while the 5.2 Spyder with the manual did it in 3.9 seconds. EPA-estimated fuel economy is 12/19/14 with the manual and 13/19/15 with R tronic.

Audi estimates it'll hit 60 mph in about 3.5 seconds--Standard safety equipment includes antilock disc brakes, stability control, side airbags and knee airbags. Front and rear parking sensors and a rearview camera are available.

The seats are comfortable for long-distance travel and the driving position suits a wide range of people.

The ballsy, blatty Corvette and the sensual, rippling Italia have met their match in the Audi's swelling fenders and roofline, in those spot-on styling parentheses down the Coupe's sides, in its nearly faultless handling. Even if the V-10 option has roots in Italy, it's a perfect fit for the R8's subtle, suave demeanor.
Fuel economy, by supercar standards, is excellent.

Audi Q7 TDI 2011 Review

2011 Q7’s prices are expected to be just as high as the 2010 model’s, it continues to be the best value. The Lexus RX 350 starts at about $9,000 less and offers one of the highest fuel economy ratings in the class. Its 18/25 city/highway rating is even better than the Q7 turbodiesel’s rating. However, the RX 350 doesn’t offer a third-row seat.

Note that Audi expects a fuel economy increase for 2011, but neither Audi nor the EPA has released figures.

For 2011, the Q7 receives minor exterior revisions, the new engines and transmission, and standard HD radio. Audi has not yet announced trims for 2011. All models come standard with Audi's Quattro all-wheel drive system.

Vehicles like the Audi Q7 TDI have done a lot to change the perception that diesel vehicles are crude, stinky, black smoke-spewers, and the company's lone turbodiesel SUV gets even better for 2011. Thanks to the 406 pound-feet of torque at a low, low 1750 rpm, it takes very little throttle to accelerate or pass in traffic. Braking is precise, and the discs respond seemingly instantly to driver input. At the track, the TDI went from 0 to 60 mph in 8.6 seconds, which is about a second slower than the gas 4.2-liter V-8 we tested a couple years ago and the 2011 got through the quarter mile in 16.5 seconds at 82.

The 2011 Audi Q7 quattro has two new engines this year. The new engines are intriguing, however. Both are 3.0-liter engines. Not only does blown six make more power than the naturally-aspirated eight, Audi notes that it's some 16 percent more fuel efficient. The 2011 Audi Q7 we are reviewing is the Q7 TDI. The 3.0 TDI is the same turbodiesel V-6 as used in the recently tested 2011 Volkswagen Touareg TDI, rated at 225 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque, and like the Touareg has the same eight-speed automatic transmission. And like the Touareg, has standard all-wheel drive, although for the Q7 it Audi's proprietary quattro system.
The Audi Q7 and Volkswagen Touareg are not, however, badge-engineered corporate kin. The Audi is longer, with five more inches between the front and rear axles, and seats up to seven. The Touareg has only two rows of seats.

The Audi Q7 has presence.
The interior is all Audi. Want proof the Audi Q7 is wide? There's room on either side of the already wide shift lever mount for control buttons, and between them is Audi's MMI controller. The Audi Q7 has three rows of seating with seven seatbelts, but the front seats are definitely first cabin. Getting a standard size adult into the third row is difficult, and folding the middle row seatback to its nominal position is cruel if not unusual punishment to any adult in the third row.

Audi also did an outstanding job of sound insulation, as raising the hood will prove. The sounds the engine makes when underway are different from any gas engine and no doubt will be enjoyed by anyone who buys an Audi Q7 TDI, an aural confirmation of an unconventional choice in power.

Audi claims 8.5 seconds for the zero-to-sixty mph dash. Standard towing capacity is 5,500lbs (with a 550 pound tongue-weight), plus there's a trailer hitch package that includes a tow bar and increased cooling capacity, increasing tow rating to 6,600lbs (with a 660 pound tongue-weight).
The EPA rating for the 2011 Audi Q7 TDI is 17 mpg city and 25 mpg highway, however we found that we were able to get 24.0 mpg with mostly highway driving, with 19.7 mpg in mixed all-around driving in cold weather and hilly terrain, both having a negative impact on fuel economy numbers.

The 2011 Audi Q7 TDI, just from being a diesel, might be expected to be dull witted on the road. Thank Audi's adaptive air suspension. The slowest accelerating but the best mileage of the three 2011 Audi Q7 models, the TDI is priced in the middle. The "base" 2011 Audi Q7 Premium with the standard 3.0T engine has a base price of $46,250, while the Q7 S Line Prestige--required to get the 3.0T engine--starts at $59,450, but includes a lot of extras. The 2011 Audi Q7 TDI price (according to our window sticker but later raised) begins at $50,900.

Audi A7 2011 Review

Audi A7 Sportback
The diesel-powered Audi A7 Sportback is driven by a 3.0 litre V6 TDI engine, delivering 180kW and 500Nm of torque. As with the petrol model, the A7 Sportback TDI is equipped with quattro all-wheel-drive and the seven-speed S tronic transmission. The Audi A7 Sportback Measures 1.4 metres tall, 4.97 metres long and 1.91 metres wide, riding on an exceptionally long 2.91 metre wheelbase - improving interior space and legroom.
Inside, the Audi A7 Sportback gets ventilated massaging front seats as an option, while Audi's MMI 8-inch display system is standard. A Bang & Olufsen audio system features on the options list.

2011 Audi A7 Sportback Exterior Elegance
The North American market missed out on the stunning 2010 model Audi A5 Sport Back, but not to worry as the Audi A7 Sport Back will be hitting North American shores and will be blessed with a more elegant design and more spacious to boot with its 114.6 inch wheelbase. The Audi A7 boast impressive LED running lights that are mostly incorporated within the vast majority of new Audi models, while the grille is shaped in a trapezoidal fashion. Audi has stated that the exterior design of this vehicle is called the “tornado line”, this shapes the vehicle and defining a beautifully shaped side and rear. A special little feature that has been incorporated on this model is that when the vehicle reaches speeds of over 50 mph the spoiler rises automatically and below 50 mph retracts back into the vehicle. Audi has whispered about a possible high performance model maybe available in the future.

The Audi A7 also comes with some technological upgrades. The A7 is the first model from Audi that has been incorporated with a new active parallel parking system; although not available in the U.S.
Incidentally, the German designers appear to have taken fullest advantage of its enormous 115” wheelbase to provide ample leg room while giving the car its ‘stretched’ look and whale-like aerodynamics.

Standard features of the 2011 Audi A7 includes original leather upholstery, power and heated front seats, exclusive Audi drive select, Sirius satellite radio, Audi Music interface, Bluetooth, Homelink, three zone climate control and fully automatic headlights with built-in light and rain sensor windshield wipers. No, it does not sport headlight wipers as in Mercedes-Benz e-class vehicles.
For your information, the Audi A7 is aided by 8-speed Triptonic Automatic Transmission promised to provide 18 city and 28 autobahn miles per gallon.
